The Michigan Classic Ballet

MCBC presents... FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH, 2009... "Nutcracker Knowledge,” an
educational program including a modified performance of the “Nutcracker Ballet”
designed especially for students.  This FREE program educates children on the
history of the Nutcracker, classical ballet, and provides an enriching and
interactive experience.  In addition to the Nutcracker programs, we have
developed a similar program for Swan Lake and have plans for future programs
featuring other children's story ballets.

At the theatre, students explore a fantastic story line, elaborate costumes and
sets, and between scenes are taught all about what is going on by an
experienced lecturer. They are shown behind-the-scenes set changes and
special effects and are invited to interact with questions and demonstrations.  A
curriculum guide is also available to participating schools containing materials for
teachers to use with the students before and after attending the performance.
